 What does
TCG stand for ?
|
|
TCG stands for The Corporate Gurus School of Business, which was incepted in 2009
under the aegis of The Corporate Gurus Educational Society. We are an Business
School and offer the MBA program. We are affiliated to Punjabi University, Patiala
and approved by the AICTE. After the successful delivery on the MBA front for two years where all the students have been placed for the jobs and the Summer Internships (for the first year) TCG would be starting MCA from the year 2011.We have applied for the same to the AICTE and the Punjabi University . The course would be starting from the year 2011 On completion of the course our students will be awarded a recognized degree of Punjabi University, Patiala |

Where
are you located exactly ?
|
|
We are located near Banur, the upcoming educational hub of Punjab. The Campus is
on the Banur -Tepla Road, conveniently accessible from Chandigarh, Ambala and Patiala.
We are just 30 minutes away from Chandigarh.

What is
the duration of the course?
|
|
The course follows the same pattern as that of Punjabi University and is of two
years duration. It is divided into four semesters. The first two semesters are common
to all students, at the end of which, summer training has to be undertaken. The
third and fourth semesters are based on the selected specialization of interest
opted for by the student among those that are offered, at the end of which a research
project is undertaken. The specializations currently offered by us are Marketing,
Finance, Human Resource Management, Operations Management and Retail Management.
The MCA course would be a Three year Full time course as per the syllabi prescribed by the Punjabi University. |

What is
the unique aspect of your institution?

What differentiates us from other B-Schools in the region is that we are an
B-School, aimed at advancing management education through concerted learning, research
and development. The method of training and development adopted, make us stand out
in the region. Interactive learning based on experiential training, backed and supported
by strong mentorship and assistance of our committed faculty and active council
members, helps us achieve our differential advantage.
For the personality development of the students we have a dedicated one hour session daily .The students take part in the following activities which helps them to polish their communications skills and makes them ready to face the challenges of the corporate world. 4a Paper presentations. 4b Newspaper Reviews. 4c Book Reviews. 4dGroup Discussions . 4e Mock Interviews. The same kind of developing programs would be done for the MCA course. Also we have tie ups with various consultants for providing specialized courses in the field of Computer applications. Moreover, we are affiliated to Punjabi University, Patiala as against the majority of other MBA colleges of the region which are affiliated to PTU. |

What is
the Admission Procedure?

|
You can also register with us anytime on the numbers provided on the web or visit us at the campus. Once the results are out, we will contact you for the admissions. Those desirous of direct admission through the management quota can approach us through phone or mail. TCG is not seeking any capitation charges or any other form of donation for the management quota fees. Confirmed admission is being offered on the basis of merit which is as given below: 50% & above for BA, B.Com, BBA, B.Sc. 50% & above for B.Tech Of the total seats, two-thirds would be filled through the University counseling, ( on the basis of the MET score) and the remaining seats are under the management quota. |

What is
your fee structure?
|
The fee structure is strictly as per the Punjabi University norms. At present the
fee structure is as follows, (subject to any change made by the Punjabi University,
Patiala.)
The same holds true for the management quota seats as well. |

Do you give scholarships or fee concession?
|
Yes, we give scholarships to deserving students at the time of admission. This is
a onetime scholarship which will be given to ten students on a first-come-first-served
basis, based on the graduation marks obtained by them.

Do you provide laptops to the students?
|
|
We do offer laptops to students at concessional rates procured by us through our
bulk deal. They are certainly much lower than the prevailing market rate.
|

What is the method of teaching adopted by you?
|
|
The pedagogy is aimed at developing students on their conceptual as well as analytical
skills. We follow a very integrated learning philosophy which synergizes conceptual
learning to application through use of micro projects, simulation exercises and
discussions besides powerful presentations.

What specializations do you offer?
|
|
We offer specializations in the field of Marketing, Finance, Human Resource Management,
Operations Management and Retail Management, dependent on the number of students
who opt for the specific specializations. |

What about placements?
|
|
We have a very strong corporate network developed through organizational tie-up
with bodies like MIA, CII and others. The industry backing and support of the council
also adds to our industry linkages. Constant interaction with the industry by way
of seminars, guest lectures, summer placements and research work conducted by the
faculty and students helps in development of an excellent interface among the institute
and the industry. A placement committee is in place and the placement of deserving
candidates is assured. Some of the organizations where our students are currently
undergoing summer training are SBI, Lotus Bawa, Idea Cellular, and Tata Chemicals.
The college takes pride in declaring that the placements for the final year have been complete and we have the complete first batch placed in renowned companies. Also for the first year MBA all the students have been placed for the summer internships in companies like TATA DOCOMO,ING VYSYA BANK LTD., Glenmark Pharmaceuticals , SBI Life. Our President, Mr. Anurag Aggarwal is the Senior Vice President of the Mohali Industries Association and he has a strong hold in the regional industry. |

Could you tell us about your faculty?
|
|
We have with us a team of dedicated full time faculty that is led by Dr. Anupama
Bains who is the Director, who has over 15 years of experience management education
as well as corporate training. The faculty has the requisite qualifications to assist
the learning process. Additionally we also have on our panel guest faculty from
the industry who are experts in their respective fields and lend information on
current industry practices. We also have a panel of industrialists who regularly
interact with the students on current issues.
Our constituted Academic Advisory Board, which is one-of-its-kind, having eminent professionals from industry and all leading universities of the region, interact regularly with the students as well. |

Do you provide transportation facilities and what distance does a student have to
travel daily?
|
|
We will provide safe transportation facilities from Chandigarh, Ambala and Patiala
as per the convenience of the students.
The annual charges for the same are likely to be between Rs. 15,000-18,000/- payable in four quarters. TCG is located at a distance of 30 kms. from Tribune Chowk, Chandigarh, 10 kms. from Ambala City and 45 kms. from Patiala. |

Do you provide hostel accommodation?
|
| Yes, we can arrange PG accommodation separately for boys and girls at Chandigarh. The per month charges may vary between Rs 3500-4000/- approximately. |
